1st grade Halloween Party

Kolbryn had his Halloween Party today, THere was everything you can image there. There was a woman who made a back drop, took pictures and got them developed with in an hour. THere was a science lab, penny toss, halloween fashion show, story tellers, ghost sucker making, puzzle making, card match, and that was all before lunch and I had to go home . Kolbryn came home and said his stomach hurt and I asked him what he ate, he said I had a lot of sugar. I just had to tell you the extra kid is a neighbor I'm watching and he and Brecken did a great job of being good kids in the class while the party was going on. THe other thing I have to explain is Kolbryn's costume. I really wanted him to be the tin man this year, I have the costume from my sister and it is great, and he said no and I said yes and now you see who won. This costume was made by nana for Logan when he was in kindergarten.

Things to do in downtown S.L.C.

SO we found lots of things to do for free downtown. I am so sad my kids are growing up, but there are highlights to it. That we can go out for an adventure and not have to worry about taking a nap. We went to a free pumpkin decorating at the gateway and then rode tracks and visited Joseph Smith MOr. building, the church office building and the beehive house. I told my kids before going into the beehive house I didn't want to hear the "B" word. Which meant "boring" to me well when we came out of the the house Paul said we did it with out any "B" word. COme to find out he thought the "B" word was beehive. a side note I had told the kids too that we were going into the beehive house and there were not going to be any beehives that it meant industrious so don't get disappointed that there was not going to be any honey. So you can see why Paul got confused.

Where did summer go?

This was our last big outing for the year. We went on the Jordan River trail. I was trying to figure out how to get all the kids bikes in the car, it's a lot harder when the bikes get bigger, and so I asked if we could just roller blade. Everyone said yes and Brittin really wanted too. The last time we went rollerblading on the Jordan River trail we got our car broken into and our camera stolen. So this time the kids were nervous about leaving the car in an unsafe place so I decided to park by Gardener Village, thinking that would be safer, but when we pulled in to the parking lot there was broken glass on the ground and the kids started scream, I said I think it will be okay, and Logan said that is Satan just telling you that so stop listening to Satan and listen to us. Well I couldn't argue with that so we found our other favorite spot by the trail and got out. Well, Brittin was the first one out and first one with her blades on and finally the rest of us got our stuff on, then we started on the trail within 2min, I'm not lying, Brittin said lets turn around I'm done. I said no we are going to where we said, well that started everything, I'm never doing this again, why did you make me come, this isn't fun, why would you ever think this is fun, and on and on. While the boys are just skating away and having a great time. We finally get to our park and then they have a great time. What I have learned with my many years of being on the earth, or maybe my mom told me, is that if you do anything for too long you start hating it. So what I have to do is keep my kids excited about doing something is that we can't spend too much time at that one place. When I see that my kids have reached their peak of funness I say we have to go so that the next time I ask if they want to go they will remember that it was really fun and not how they got tried of it. I don't know if this really works or it is my way of not getting bored watching them, or the dreaded thing of them asking me to play, but that's what we do. SO we saw a lot of things and played at a lot of parks and took lots of pictures. And yes is the answer to the question is that Brittin did have fun and does want to do it again.
