Principal's pride

Brittin received Principal's pride. It is an award the every student should get through the year. You get to invite your family to come eat lunch with you and the principal. I set up the tables every other wed. for it at the school to help out in the PTA. So Brittin really knows about it, Logan got it at the first of the year and she has been dieing to have her turn. She comes home and says I don't know why so and so got it before me, I'm really better than them, very humble! So for weeks she is crying, girl drama. So the week she finally gets it I am going on a field trip with Logan, can I tell you how that went over, there were many wet eyes in the house. I told I could just talk to her teacher about changing the date, she said no I don't even want it anymore. Drama. But when the day arrived, was she happy. She ate lunch and then said bye I'm going to recess. How exciting. Oh well one less thing for her to complain about. Know she has moved on to loosing her teeth. SHe has got 2 loose at the same time and loves to have everyone wiggle them, So I am sure we are going to end up with some sickness.

Kolbryn's Field trip

Kolbryn had his first elementary school field trip. It was to wheeler farm. He has never been there or rode on a bus so he was very excited. He got to see the farm animals and ride on the tracker ride, and be with his school friends. He loved everything about it except the smell. He really enjoyed finding all the animals bums and if there was any poop around them. Brecken and I joined in on the fun. I don't know if we were aloud but we met him there and had a nice hot and smelly time. Feeding the ducks or should I say chasing the ducks was another highlight.

Logan's football

We signed Logan up for football. I thought I would hate it or he would hate it but it has been okay. I say okay because I wish the coach would have moved the players around to different spots some more but the end result of getting Logan to understand football a little more was a success. He basically was the center the whole time but in the last 2 games he got to run the ball once in each game, he didn't get very far but he got to run it. We were hoping that he would pull on flag through the whole season but that didn't happen either, but maybe next year. He just doesn't have the desire to be aggressive, unless he is competing with his siblings. But he got to get a trophy and exercise and treats after the game. That's why he signed up.

Piano Recital

Brittin and Logan did a great job with their piano pieces. Logan just plugs along reading the music and doing his time everyday with his piano and is getting to be a great pianist. Brittin tries to get away with anything just so she doesn't have to practice. She does the chop sticks, or any other song to say she is playing the piano and get her time done. She is very good at memorizing the notes but not the timing. I think they are both very talented, I hope they keep playing and don't wear me down and talk me out of taking lessons. Brittin has already started, she says she wants to quit, I say you have to play until Jr. High and she says 4th grade. Pray for me to have the strength to with stand her pleads.

James' Mission Reunion

James had a mission Reunion of Sat. The day he was getting ready for the river trip, Logan's last Flag foot ball game and Brittin and Logan's piano recital. I have only been to a couple of them because I never want to take the herd of kids with us and that I don't know anybody there. THis time they had it at a park with bounce houses and food, so I said sure lets go. James got to see a couple of people he knew, when I say couple I mean 2 people. So we just hung out and enjoyed the park and food, but had to get going because the stores were closing, he still hadn't bought a dry bag for the camping trip. The kids love showing off all their tricks on the equipment and trees. It was fun to be a family at the park. Usually if James is home on a sat. I leave and go shopping, just to have some time away.

Kolbryn's Kindergarten Program

Kolbryn had his kindergarten program. He did a good job. He had a smile on his face the whole time and sang all the songs. Even though he promised me he was just going to move his mouth and not let any sound come out. His favorite was the to to da to to da, thumbs up, elbow back, feet out, knees together, bum up, tongue out, eyes closed and turn around. Their whole program was on the seasons and the last song was a song for the parents. He had the biggest smile when doing it. I can't believe he is going into 1st grade. I am going to miss him so much next year. WHere does the time go. WHat am I going to do with just one home, last time this was going to happen we had another one because I didn't know what I was going to do with just one. Maybe a dog will be the answer, James says no because my history with pets isn't very good. We will see.

Logan's first dance

Logan went to this is the place for his fourth grade field trip. They got to go to school, to dance, pull a handcart, and to the black smith. We have been to this is the place a lot and I have never done any of the things we did with the class. The school teacher taught them how to act and what would happen if they disobeyed, they were scared. They showed them how heavy and hard pulling a hand cart would be. The black smith showed how long it takes to make any thing. But the dancing was the best part in my mind. To start it was in the Pack family house, who we are related too. But the dancing for the boys was torture. They wouldn't even look at the girls when they danced. They did heal toe heal toe slide slide slide, then the other way then they had to hit hands and swing around. That meant they had to trade partners, so it was bad enough to dance with one girl but they had to keep switching. Logan came home and said they girls in our ward were the worst to dance with, they felt the weirdest. I don't know how he could feel them all they did was slap hands and lock elbows. BUt I got some evidence that he did have a good time dancing, a picture with a smile. One of the boys in the class asked his mom if he could stay home from the field trip and she asked why and he said because if he went he would have to dance with a girl. Logan can't wait for 5th grade, he goes around the house singing "Are you smarter than a 5th grader." HE is so funny, he knows it makes me sad to see him so old. He had a great time playing the pioneer games, the bus was leaving and I said we got to go. It was fun being with him, his last field trip he got Nana to go on because Mom is no fun. So I ask if he had fun with me and he said Kinda. That is his answer to everything. Do you like chocolate, kinda. Was the show good, kinda. So I guess I will take what I can get. It was fun to see him interact with other kids, these last two months he has come out of his shell alittle. He is actually saying hi back to people that say hi to him. He is growing into a handsome young man. But he is still my little boy.

Brittin's field trip and talent show

Brittin is so excited to be going into 3rd grade. But what was really exciting was all the things you do at the end of the year. First was her field trip to the Planetarium and eat lunch at Liberty Park, the her next field trip, which I got to go on, was Natural History Museum, liberty park, and then the Capital. She got with a good group of girls and had a great time together. Each trying to gross the other one out with the spiders. Then Brittin had to tell them about the naked Indians so they could laughing and pointing at them. Then there was a bird that had feathers a different color on it's breast and she remembered that from her last trip and told the whole floor. I'm telling you she loves her body parts. I had a great time watching her with her friends and playing around. Then we were on the bus ride home and I could tell I was in for it. She was laying all over me and wouldn't let me talk to the other kids, she had stayed up so late the night before, because she was excited to go on the field trip. SO no sleep and a long exciting day is not a good mix with her. So first she wouldn't let me stand up on the bus to get off, so we were holding up the line, then she wanted to come home with me, but I had to go get the boys from James at work so it wouldn't have been helpful, then she was pulling on my arm and crying and not going to class, I finally got her to class and got to pick up the boys, So her next exciting event was a talent show. She decided to play her piano piece and jump rope. She wanted to do soccer and monkey bars but I talked her out of that. She wanted to do her dance but I said you have to have 8 other girls to do your dance, so I talked her out of that. When I got to school and saw all the other kids talents I felt bad I hadn't let her do it too. Everyone had a fun time and boy do these kids have courage. How do we loose it so fast. Not one of them was shy or nervous and there are some shy kids in her class, but not for the talent show. I will have to remember next time to just let her do what she wants and encourage her instead of give her reasons to doubt herself. She is a very talented girl

Temple open house

We had a fun and wet time at the temple. It was the first open house for a temple I have been to. The temple is really small and plain, but beautiful. It went really fast, the weather was the only bad thing. It was just fun to see how excited the kids where to see everything. For all they kids we had there nothing bad happened and we even got cookies, so that was the kids favorite part. What was exciting for me was that I went on Logan's field trip earlier that day and Logan was on the bus on the way back to the school and turned around to his friends and said I get to go to the temple after school, then it got the kids talking about the temple and the ones they have been too. What a good little missionary. Every one came over after for some dinner and fun, it's so fun to be together.

2 cute girls

Rhyan has been staying with us over the weekend and all brittin can talk about is what they are going to wear and how their hair is going to look. So for church they got necklaces, braclets and ear rings out, nail polish, and fake hair. As early as they possibly could they jumped in the tub and jumped out to put their clothes on. This was the fastest my girl has ever been ready for church in her life. When ever she is gone on Sundays, time goes faster because she hates getting ready for church and everything is a fight but not this Sunday. She was ready at 8:30 for 11:00 church. Then the problem was her not getting stuff dirty for that long. She made me hurry so much that I was ready at 9:55, I thought it was 10:55 and we were late but we were a hour early, but we still managed to get to church late. It has been really fun having 2 girls in the house.

This is the place

We just went to this is the place, the conversation before going, where are we going "this is the place" no I asked where are we going, this is the place. But I want to know where are we going, I already told you this is the place. Then we weren't allowed to talk about it any more. After getting there, we took the train around a couple times and then got out and saw the new Indian exhibit, or should I say native American exhibit and made some arrow head necklaces. We got on yet another train, it reminds me of Fat man in a little coat, we seem like giants in the train, but the kids had fun waving to the birds and it was really pretty. Then we headed to make dolls and then off to the stables for pony rides. but wait I should say horse rides because Kolbryn did not want to ride a pony. He was very excited because the doctor didn't say anything about not riding horses, he wasn't disobeying, haven't I taught them well how to cheat the system. Kolbryn's horse looks like he knows something isn't right, hopefully he doesn't tell the doctor. I think the only think they will remember about the trip is that Cy's horse pooped, that's how they describe the place to each other, remember it's the place that the horse pooped and then they go oh yea that place. The place wasn't very busy so we got to ride everything a couple of times, thanks to the grandparent pass, thanks nana and papa. We got to see Kolbryn's name sake's name in the statue and Elsie's too. All the baby animals were so cute. But the first words out of Kolbryn's mouth when we picked up Logan and Brittin at School was Cy's horse pooped. I'm glad my kids live up to my expectations.

Bad Mom

Well not only was Kolbryn covered with scrapes but he also had a broken arm. Yes and it only took me 5 days and a husband to figure it out. Kolbryn was being such a baby about his scrapes that I couldn't even touch them with out a scream that I just left him alone. He was crying about everything. He wouldn't go to school because people were going to stare at him and he absolutely didn't want that so I let him stay home on Monday but by Tuesday I needed him out of the house before I was going to kill him. Every time someone got in line and asked him what happen he would come and hide behind me and cry. SO we spent a couple of minutes in the bathroom and I finally got him to go to school. Then wed. we went to the park and he rode his skateboard, got on his bike one handed and said look mom I can ride it with one hand. This whole it I was getting him dressed and undressed because he could move his arm. Well he had a huge scrap on his elbow and I thought it was because of that. Well by Thursday night we had a meeting at a park and James was there and asked what was wrong with Kolbryn. I said he is just faking it. James said no I think something is wrong. Kolbryn was trying to climb a rock wall and would only use his hand like a T-Rex. So James said take him to the doctors. SO we went Friday morning and got x-rays. We were waiting for the dr. to come and talk to us and the x-ray tech. came and said I think he should win the Best Kid award and I said what? She said come and look at this. The bone was totally broken all the way across. She said I was moving him all around and turning his arm this way and that and he didn't make a sound, then I looked at the film and said is this the same kid. So I wasn't the only one that couldn't believe it. So then I had to go and explain to everyone that I didn't believe him and then I really felt bad because I had been so mean. But he doesn't have to have a cast just a sling. The hard thing is keeping him in it.

Quick Sand or Male Stupidity ?

So over the holiday weekend we went down to moab. James and the older boys went down 2 years ago and had fun so we decided to go again. Well we ended up leaving late then the traffic was bad,it was like 2 1/2 hrs just to spanish fork canyon, we stopped to eat. Then James remember we didn't have the keys to the jeep, we borrowed a truck from work and towed the jeep so we didn't need the keys to drive. So we had to drive all the way back to around the point of the mountain where keelee and the girls meet us with the keys, thanks Keelee. SO by the time we started through the canyon it was 9. Well it was another 5 hr drive. I said james when we get there where are we going to sleep, he said out side, I said WHAT. he said what is wrong with sleeping out side, I said bugs, animals, people seeing you, etc. So I said you have to set up the tent aleast for me. then while driving I looked at the sky and said, what if it is raining. He said it never rains there. So we get closier and stop for a potty break and it is down pouring, he said it wont be raining there. We get there at 2:30 am and it is raining, and mud. WE wake up the kids and say lets go to sleep. Logan slept on the back seat, brittin in one of the feet spots in the back seat, Kolbryn in my foot spot in the front seat, I laid on the front seat, or I felt on the seat belt, and James laid his seat back and he and Brecken laid on his seat, then brecken came and laid with me, see how I said laid, not slept. Well by 6:30 we were up. Everyone in the camp looking at us and laughing,we were like a clown car, where people keep coming out. We got the tent up with some help of the other campers watching our kids. THen they fixed us breakfast and we packed our lunch and hopped in the jeeps. Brittin and Logan went with another family so we could all fit. It was really fun. I sat white knuckled and telling james to stop following so close, James drove as fast as he could, trying to spray people with mud. While Brittin and Logan were with a family that had squirt guns trying to get everyone wet. So our family was well liked. no annoying by any means. Well we saw lots of Indian ruins and high places. It was really nice when we were jeeping but when we were back at camp the kids wanted to climb all those rocks, well the 3 big guys could do it but Brecken needed someone following him, so that was hard. Then on Sunday we did a little devotional and got on our way, this is when James got stuck. Out of the whole caravan we were the only ones who needed help. James got his tow rope out and hooked it onto a jeep and it snapped, so then all the men made fun of him again and they had to get another one and drags us out. And we saw some more cites and they fed us a wonderful dinner and breakfast and then we started to head out and found our Truck's battery was drained so we needed help again. We went and saw some arches and headed home with no big problems after that. It was a fun family trip but I was really glad it was over, except for the clean up. THere was red mud every where.
